Terms of Sale

1. The seller. Snobby's is the trading name of Iain Spinks, Scotland, United Kingdom ("the gallery"). A postal address is provided to collectors on request. These terms govern every acquisition made through stupidlyexpensive.art.

2. The works. Each work in the exhibition Identical is oil-primed canvas on the artist's stretcher, executed by E. Vane upon acquisition. Lots 001 through 006 are materially indistinguishable from one another. This is not a defect. It is the work. Each work in The Rainbow is executed in a single colour, and only that colour.

3. Prices. Prices are as stated at the point of acquisition and include VAT where applicable (the gallery is not currently registered for VAT). The price of a work reflects its documentation, its edition, and the collector's own judgement, in proportions the gallery declines to specify. The works of The Rainbow are priced according to the history of their pigments.

4. Editions. Lot 001 is an edition of one hundred; Lot 002, twenty-five; Lot 003, three; Lots 004, 005 and 006 are unique. Each work in The Rainbow is unique and is released only upon the acquisition of the colour before it. One acquisition per collector, per work. The gallery reserves the right to refund a duplicate acquisition, with a short note.

5. Formation of contract. Your order is an offer. The contract is formed when the gallery confirms the acquisition by electronic mail. The gallery may decline an offer without explanation; it is a gallery.

6. Execution and delivery. No work is created speculatively. Each piece is executed within fourteen days of acquisition and dispatched thereafter, as set out on the Delivery page, which forms part of these terms.

7. Cancellation. Collectors have the statutory right to cancel described on the Period of Reflection page, which forms part of these terms.

8. Documentation. Documentation accompanies each lot as described in its catalogue entry. The gallery certifies that the certificate of authenticity is authentic.

9. Your statutory rights. Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including that goods be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. The works are as described. Emphatically.

10. Liability. The gallery's liability in respect of any acquisition is limited to the price paid, save that nothing limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. The gallery has never been accused of the last and regards the first two as unlikely consequences of a canvas.

11. Law. These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction — non-exclusive, like the works.
