The Period of Reflection

The gallery affords every collector a period of reflection. The law, as it happens, agrees.

Your right to cancel. You may cancel your acquisition at any time from the moment you place your order until fourteen days after the day you (or someone you nominate) receive the work. You do not need to give a reason. The gallery will not ask for one, though it may privately form a view.

How to cancel. Inform us by a clear statement in writing to enquiries@stupidlyexpensive.art before the period expires. You may use the model cancellation form below; you are not obliged to.

Returning the work. Return the work to the address the gallery provides when you notify us, within fourteen days of telling us you wish to cancel. The direct cost of returning the work is borne by the collector. The work should be returned in the condition in which it was received; a deduction may be made for any diminution in value resulting from handling beyond what was necessary to establish its nature and characteristics — which, the gallery notes, is not extensive.

Your refund. We will refund the price paid, including standard delivery charges (though not any premium delivery option), within fourteen days of receiving the work back or of receiving evidence that you have returned it, whichever is earlier, using the means of payment used for the acquisition.

A work returned under the period of reflection is withdrawn. The gallery does not discuss the circumstances of a work's removal from a collection.
